Gurbani is written in a poetic register drawing on several languages, and a reader working only from the text and a translation misses much of what a line is doing. Katha supplies that: the context, the imagery and the meaning unpacked at length by someone who has studied it.
The scripture is presented across all 1,430 angs, navigable by ang and by Raag, with the katha audio attached to the passage it explains rather than kept in a separate library.
Translation and transliteration accompany the Gurmukhi for readers not yet fluent in the script.
